News :: New Coast Guard Ship for the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation

On 12 May 2010 at the Saint Petersburg-based Almaz Shipyard the commissioning ceremony for the lead ship of Project 22460 Rubin for the Coast Guard of the Russian Federation was held, and later the keel-laying ceremony for the second ship of the Project has taken place at that day.

The Coast Guard ship was designed by the Severnoye Design Bureau for border guard service in inland seas and for fighting terrorism and piracy.

The both ceremonies were attended by Mr Bortnikov, Director of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, Mrs Matvienko, Governor of Saint Petersburg, Mr Spiridopoulo, Director General of the Severnoye Design Bureau, Mr Grabovets, Director General of the Almaz Shipyard and other officials.
